What is the Flourishing Learners Conference 2027?

The Flourishing Learners Conference 2027 is a system-wide professional learning experience focused on

strengthening precision, consistency and coherence of evidence-based teaching practice, aligned with MACS' Vision for Instruction and Vision for Engagement.


The conference will centre on excellence and equity in action, showcasing how schools are improving outcomes through real examples and practical, classroom-ready strategies.

When and where will the conference be held?

The conference will take place from Wednesday 26 May to Friday 28 May 2027 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC).

What can I expect from the conference?

The program will include:

  • Keynote presentations from leading experts
  • Practice-focused workshops grounded in real school contexts
  • Opportunities to collaborate, reflect and share effective practice across schools
When will registrations open?

Registrations are expected to open in July 2026. Further details, including ticket options and pricing, will be shared closer to the launch. Register your interest to receive an invitation to buy your tickets first.

Will schools need to plan for student-free or modified days?

Schools will be able to attend across one, two or all three days and may wish to consider planning for partial or full student-free days to enable staff attendance. Further guidance will be provided once the program structure is confirmed.

Will there be opportunities to present?

Yes. MACS teachers and leaders will be invited to submit abstracts to showcase their practice. A Call for Abstracts will be released in 2026.

What is the focus of the conference content?

All conference content will be explicitly aligned with the Vision for Instruction, Vision for Engagement and MACS2030 priorities, ensuring a strong system focus on coherence and shared direction. The program will focus on the practical application of evidence-based teaching strategies, with a clear emphasis on demonstrated impact in classrooms and schools.

Sessions will showcase how schools are enacting consistent, refined approaches to teaching and learning that lift outcomes for all students.
